Gluten Free in Turkey
Lucky for me my mum and dad have a villa in Turkey so we have been visiting since I was 4. We stay in a small place called calis inside Fethiye. The food here has always been amazing but since I was diagnosed with celilac disease I had to change my orders in most places.
My favourite restraunt is called la casa di mamma here the were able to gluten free pasta I got arrabita because its my favourite. Before I was celiac I use to order the fajitas and the were amazing I never thought when I was here but I should have just brought my own wraps to have them, its well worth it. We also went to a Chinese called Serkul 2 were I was able to get sweet and sour chicken and fried rice gluten free which was super tasty.
Turkey is quite similar to Greece were it’s a bit more difficult to get gluten free food lucky for me though I do love a meat filled diet and most places do a chicken shish or grilled chicken and things similar that are safe to eat. I don’t think there is anywhere here that offered a gluten free menu but it is also quite a small place there probably is more options in one of the bigger citys.
For lunch I was able to buy some gluten free things from one of the bigger supermarkets in fethiye so I was able to buy rolls and bread and some biscuit things here. Sometimes if I knew there wasn’t going to be much I could eat at the restraunt we were going to or I was fed up on meat I would buy gluten free pasta and a sauce and have something to eat before we went out.
